POLAROID - PARIS PHOTO

Polaroid x Magnum – Imperfection as an attitude.
Polaroid has always been shaped by human relationships. In an increasingly hyper-digitalised world, it is becoming ever more important to preserve one of the cornerstones of photography: empathy – the ability to put oneself in someone else's shoes. Together with Magnum Photos, Polaroid searched Paris Photo for a new generation of imperfections who tell stories of life not only in black and white, but in all shades of grey.
Based on the classic Petersburg hanging,
I developed an exhibition concept that shows each artistic position individually, yet creates a common visual narrative.

Services: Creative & Art Direction, Project lead
I conceived and implemented the project entirely on my own. Together with Polaroid's creative team, I selected the images and developed the curatorial concept. From this, I developed the hanging plan, which brought together the concept and the interior design. I took on the production management for the art prints, coordinated the collaboration with the participating artists, and was responsible for setting up and supervising the exhibition on site during Paris Photo.

What I took away from this project: working independently, curatorial thinking and precise project management – from the initial idea to implementation. The ability to coordinate many participants and balance creative and organisational responsibilities was particularly important.

Here is an exclusive look behind the scenes.
